Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Los Angeles, CA
Maria is an occupational therapist and mother of three working in the field of pediatrics for over ten years. She has a passion for assisting children on their unique developmental journeys. She also serves as a support to families in gaining resources and tools needed to foster their children's independence on their path to adulthood.
Maria specializes in early intervention, sensory processing, and feeding therapy ranging from infants to young adults. Her work history includes an internship at UCLA Hospital where she was able to work with children with medically fragile needs in the NICU and PICU. Maria also spent time at the NAPA Center as a student where she discovered her love for sensory integration, feeding, positioning and handling to support motor development.
Over the past 6 years, Maria has worked as an OT with children in their homes, in hospitals and most recently in a sensory integration clinic where she was able to continue to gain knowledge on the various needs and treatment options for diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Disorder of Motor Function and more.
Today, Maria serves her local community as a private occupational therapist looking to work with families on a more personal level to truly implement growth in the clients she works with.
Maria has obtained her level 2 proficiency in sensory processing from the STAR Institute and utilizes the SOS feeding approach for feeding therapy.
